Liverpool take on Porto this evening as they look to continue their Champions League group stage campaign with a second consecutive win.

A thrilling 3-2 victory over AC Milan in their opening game currently sees them top of Group B, and boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a similar result tonight.

As for Porto, they settled for a goalless draw at Atletico Madrid a fortnight ago, and have often struggled to beat Liverpool in their past encounters.

FULL TIME – PORTO 1-5 LIVERPOOL

It’s all over in Portugal, and it’s an absolute drubbing for the hosts.

Liverpool were superb and have sauntered to a second straight win in these Champions League group stages.

Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino both scored a double and Sadio Mane was also on target.

Away in Europe? That’s how it’s done!

21:48

90min: We’re now into three added minutes.

$3

21:47

86min: Liverpool have made another change. Why not, eh?

Divock Origi has been thrown into the fray, with Diogo Jota making way.

The visitors are still pressing on as we approach the 90 minute mark.

GOAL! PORTO 1-5 LIVERPOOL (Firmino, 81)

It’s another goal in Portugal, and Liverpool have made it five! I can hardly keep up.

There was a VAR check that took any age, with the officials checking for an offside and potential penalty.

In the end, Roberto Firmino’s finish from a rebound after Curtis Jones’ volley was given, and he has a brace too!

21:35
GOAL! PORTO 1-4 LIVERPOOL (Firmino, 77)

The answer to my question earlier was no, by the way. It truly is game over now.

It’s horrendous goalkeeping once again, too. A long ball punted down the right was set to be mopped up, but Diogo Costa raced off his line.

There, he was caught in no man’s land, allowing Roberto Firmino to sneak in and direct his shot along the ground and into the net.

Costa tried his best to scamper back, and even palmed the ball away on the ground, but by the time he flung out an arm the effort had crossed the line.

21:34
GOAL! PORTO 1-3 LIVERPOOL (Taremi, 75)

It was good work from Fabio Vieira, who twisted neatly into some space down the right before crossing into the box.

There, Mehdi Taremi managed to get ahead of Joe Gomez and directed a fine header across Alisson.

21:34

73min: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been brought on for Liverpool for the final part of this game, with Jordan Henderson making way.

Could there be a late twist, though?

21:30
GOAL! REAL MADRID 1-1 SHERIFF (Benzema, 65)

Karim Benzema fired Real Madrid back onto level terms against minnows Sheriff a few minutes ago at the Bernabeu.

Can the visitors hold out for a brilliant point now?

21:29

70min: Porto have also turned to their bench again, with Sergio Oliveira taken off and Pepe (not the defender) brought on.

This has been a difficult evening for them, and Liverpool really are their bogey team.

You wouldn’t rule out Liverpool bagging another goal, either.

21:28

68min: Liverpool have made a hat-trick of substitutions as they look to rest some legs for the weekend.

Joe Gomez, Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino have been brought on.

Heading off were James Milner, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

21:26

64min: Since that third goal went in, we had chances at both ends.

Luis Diaz moved forward down the right before breaking into the box and laying the ball away for the substitute Vitinha.

He looked to rifle beyond Alisson, but the goalkeeper got down sharply to make the stop.

Down the other end, Diogo Jota collected a pass from Andy Robertson. He could only fire wide of the target, however.

21:18
GOAL! PORTO 0-3 LIVERPOOL (Salah, 60)

They make it look so, so easy – and now Mohamed Salah has his brace.

Curtis Jones did superbly to win the ball back in midfield and then shepherd play across to Mohamed Salah in acres of space on the right.

Salah simply does not miss those, and he duly tucked beyond Diogo Costa and into the back of the net.

21:17

56min: Porto have looked to roll the dice in the hope of sparking mission impossible here.

The tricky Vitinha and Wendell have been brought on, replacing Zaidu Sanusi and Mateus Uribe.

21:13

53min: Oh dear! Diogo Jota should have scored against his old club!

Porto were caught napping at the back again, and Jesus Corona bizarrely headed the ball back inside his penalty area, across the face of goal.

Jota raced in to meet it first, but Diogo Costa was quickly off his line to narrow the angle and make a block with his body.

21:12

51min: Diogo Costa is trying his hardest to make up for his role in the two goals tonight, and in fairness has repelled Liverpool well in the second half.

Andrew Robertson fired in a dangerous ball from the left, and the goalkeeper was on hand to divert away using his knee.

Mohamed Salah, who was running in at the far post, made his frustration very clear there. He was on hand for a tap-in.

21:08

49min: Porto have looked a little brighter at the start of this second half, and have also changed up their shape after that change.

Luis Diaz went over under a challenge from Fabinho, and went rolling around on the floor out of absolutely nothing.

He failed to con the referee, too, who waved for play to carry on. The man in the middle is not messing around!

21:03
BACK UNDERWAY!

46min: The ball is rolling again in Porto!

Will it be more of the same for Liverpool? It’s been a procession for them so far in this one.

The hosts made a change at the break – with Marko Grujic replacing Toni Martinez.

Around the grounds…

Before we head for a brief half-time break ourselves, here are the scores from across the Champions League at the interval…

Real Madrid 0-1 Sheriff

Milan 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Sporting Lisbon

Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Manchester City

RB Leipzig 1-2 Club Bruges

20:46
HALF TIME – PORTO 0-2 LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are in cruise control in Portugal, and deservedly so.

They’ve dominated this one from the first whistle, moving the ball around superbly and carving out bundles of chances.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have dealt the damage for them, both having tapping in from close range after errors from the goalkeeper.

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with that.

20:46
GOAL! PORTO 0-2 LIVERPOOL (Mane, 45)

Liverpool have another goal, right on the verge of half-time!

It came from a sublime ball in from James Milner down the right, but questions have to be asked about the goalkeeping again.

The cross was fired right into that danger area, with Diogo Costa bizarrely allowing it to carry on across the face of goal.

From then, Sadio Mane had the simple task of running forward and tapping into the empty net.

It’s been a horror show at the back from the hosts, and Liverpool have made them pay.

20:45

43min: Important save from Diogo Costa, who somewhat made amends for his error earlier.

James Milner rolled the set piece short for Jordan Henderson, who then let fly.

It looked like the ball would fizz into the back of the net, but the goalkeeper tipped it away superbly to keep Porto in the game.

20:43

41min: That was a striker’s challenge if I’ve ever seen one.

Toni Martinez clattered into Sadio Mane on the edge of the penalty area, bringing him down at the expense of a dangerous-looking free-kick.

The shot then comes in…

20:40

37min: Sound the klaxon. Porto have had a shot!

Jesus Corona swung the ball into the danger area, and it dropped away for Luis Diaz on the far side.

He then looked to test Alisson, but the goalkeeper was able to make an easy save with the effort lacking any power.

The touch to control the ball was perfect, but the daisy-cutter that followed was not.

20:36

33min: Here come Liverpool once again. This is ridiculously one-sided at present.

Andy Robertson picked out Sadio Mane with a ball over the top, and he in turn then laid off to Jordan Henderson.

The midfielder cracked a shot away at goal, which struck Mane and allowed Porto to clear.

Curtis Jones was the next player to try his luck shortly after, but Diogo Costa was able to make the stop.

20:33
GOAL! RB LEIPZIG 1-1 CLUB BRUGES (Vanaken, 22)

Hans Vanaken has hauled Club Bruges back onto level terms in Milan.

20:32
GOAL! REAL MADRID 0-1 SHERIFF TIRASPOL (Yakshiboev, 25)

Oh… okay then. I did not see that one coming.

The minnows have the lead at the Bernabeu, with Jasurbek Yakshiboev beating Thibaut Courtois.

Plenty of time left, of course, but wow.

20:31

27min: More chances have come and gone for Liverpool! They could, and should, be out of sight now, in truth.

Sadio Mane raced away down the left and laid off to Andy Robertson, who was on the overlap. He then found Diogo Jota in the middle.

Against his old club, the forward was able to swivel and shoot, but the hosts threw bodies in the way. Jota then crashed the rebound over.

It would be an understatement to say that Liverpool are knocking on the door in search of that second goal.

20:26

24min: Liverpool wanted a penalty, but nothing was given!

It was another brilliant move from them, which ended with Mohamed Salah pulling the ball back for Jordan Henderson to strike.

His effort crashed against the arm of Ivan Marcano, and the visitors appealed straight away.

The distance was far too close, however, and that was always a bit of a shot in the dark for them.

20:24
GOAL! AC MILAN 1-0 ATLETICO MADRID (Leao, 20)

Oh dear, Atletico! That’s what happens when you fail to clear your lines.

Brahim Diaz handed the ball off to Rafael Leao, and he duly fired into the corner to hand AC Milan the lead in Italy.

20:24

21min: Frustration is already beginning to mount for Porto, whose torrid track record against Liverpool is set to carry on as it stands.

Curtis Jones left Fabio Vieira prostrate on the turf and, while the whistles and jeers rang around the ground, the visitors continued to play.

If they’d scored, that would have been very, very controversial.

Since taking the lead, Liverpool have been stroking the ball around and look so composed. They’re on easy street at the moment.

20:18
GOAL! PORTO 0-1 LIVERPOOL (Salah, 18)

There’s the breakthrough! To absolutely no surprise, it’s that man again, Mo Salah.

He owes a great deal of credit to Curtis Jones, who picked up the ball down the left and breezed beyond Jesus Corona.

After cracking an effort away at goal, Diogo Costa parried out unconvincingly and, after a deflection, Salah tapped in from close range.

It’s a poor goal to concede for the hosts, but Liverpool will not mind one bit! They deservedly lead in Porto.

20:17

13min: When it rains, it pours. That’s another injury problem for Porto.

Otavio has been forced off with an apparent hamstring injury, with youngster Fabio Vieira replacing him.

The stricken player went straight to take a seat and looked absolutely distraught. You have to feel for him, that’s a nasty one.

20:14
GOAL! RB LEIPZIG 1-0 CLUB BRUGES (Nkunku, 5)

It took a while because of a lengthy VAR check for an offside, but finally Christopher Nkunku’s finish was given.

While it was not pretty, they all count! RB Leipzig have the lead.

20:12

8min: That was better from Porto, who are beginning to get a foothold now after a rocky first few minutes.

It was Luiz Diaz who tried his luck, but the strike was dragged through into Alisson’s hands.

He has kept James Milner very busy on that right-hand side, with Trent Alexander-Arnold missing out because of an injury.

20:08

6min: An excellent breakaway from the visitors almost led to their first chance of the game.

Andy Robertson lofted in a cross from the left in search of Mohamed Salah, but Zaidu wriggled in front to nod away with a low header.

Those full backs, including James Milner, will be absolutely vital tonight for Liverpool.

20:06

4min: It’s been a bright start from Liverpool so far in this one.

They have regularly looked for that long, arching switch of play out to the right, with both Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane looking dangerous.

At the other end, Joel Matip cleaned up a brief foray forward from the hosts with relative ease, turning his way out of danger very well indeed.

20:00
KICK OFF!

1min: We’re underway in Porto!

The hosts were dealt a late blow in the warm-ups, with the veteran centre back Pepe forced to drop out through injury.

Fabio Cardoso has been brought in in his place. No pressure.

19:56
Here come the teams!

Right then, the players are out and we’re just minutes away from getting that ball rolling!

In the meantime, let’s have some late score predictions?

Will Liverpool make it two from two, or will Porto leave them jetting back home disappointed?

Over the next hour and a half, we’ll find out! So let’s do this.

19:48
All-time great and World Cup winner Roger Hunt dies ages 83

Before we continue our build-up to kick-off, here is a reminder of the tragic passing of England and Liverpool great Roger Hunt.

He was part of the Three Lions’ World Cup-winning line-up in 1966, and also scored 244 league goals for Liverpool in his illustrious career.

Reacting to the news, boss Jurgen Klopp said: ‘It’s really sad news and our thoughts and our love go to his family.’
