He is most known for his work with the bands Bored!, Spencer P Jones, The Escape Committee, The Powder Monkeys, and The Powerline Sneakers, among others.

John Nolan was a well-known guitarist for the band The Power Monkey.
He was also known as the former member of Bored, which he left later with his friend, Tim Hemensley to start their own new brand, The Powder Monkey”.
The band was one of Australia’s most feared and infamous bands. However, the bad was resolved in 2002, after releasing their three studio albums which made them famous.
They were, Smashed on a Knee (March 1994), Time Wounds All Heels (February 1996), and Lost City Blues (2000). You can find his music on Youtube, which is also presented below.
In addition, they also released two live songs and 4 extended plays.
In 2001, John suffered a heart attack from the excessive use of drugs, which left him with impaired motor skills.
After recovering from his medical conditions, Nolan went on to play with the late Spencer P. Jones. More recently, he was in the Powerline Sneakers with ex-Splatterheads vocalist Sly Faulkner, bassist Katie Dixon, and drummer Mark Hurst (Yes-Men).
The band went on a break during the pandemic after Dixon, the bassist announced her departure, but they soon blessed our ears with a fantastic album, “Disasterpiece.”

Everyone has been thrown off guard by the death of the Powder Monkey Director John Nolan. He passed away on December 13, 2021, according to the tribute by his close friends and relatives.
The cause of his death is still yet to be disclosed and is under investigation. John Nolan was a musician loved and respected by his fan and followers.

One tweet with John’s famous smashed on a knee album and writes, “It’s with sadness that we report the death of John Nolan of the Powder Monkeys. This album should be in the collection of every Australian record collector.”
In fact, John is a true legend, and his works should be honored and displayed in every record store for sure.
